Fox Jul and his Friend

script by Daria Dmitrieva

“Jul and Friends Go on an Expedition” is a comic-puppet table theatre cycle where children are not only viewers, but also co-creators of the story. The performance follows little fox Jul and his friends as they prepare for an expedition and discover the unfamiliar world of the city — learning to observe, compare, explore and share experiences along the way.

Each session combines short theatrical scenes, object-play and visual storytelling. After watching a new episode, children create their own drawings and comics inspired by the characters’ journey — adding details, alternative versions of events, and new perspectives. Theatre gradually turns into a story on paper, and the story becomes a space for dialogue and imagination.

The project invites children to think about everyday environments — forest and city, sounds, objects, movement, friendship, curiosity — and to express their thoughts through images and narrative.
